Description
The Winn II Mirrored Sliding Wardrobe 250cm is the wide version of the Winn II mirror wardrobe, built to fill a full bedroom wall. Two big sliding doors cover 250.1cm of width; the right-hand door is a full-height mirror, and the left door is cut away at the bottom around a stack of three drawers. It stands 200.5cm high and 61cm deep and is finished in matt white with a dark grey interior.
Design
Two shadow lines run across both doors at the same height, so the mirror door and the white door read as one calm front rather than two separate panels. Because the drawers sit in the front line of the wardrobe, you can open them whichever way the doors are slid, and the mirror stays in place for dressing. On a wall this wide a mirror door makes a real difference to how light and large the room feels, and saves the floor space a freestanding mirror would take.
Storage inside
Inside are two bays of about 122cm each, roughly half as wide again as the 170cm model. The right-hand bay, behind the mirror, has a top shelf with about 36cm of space above it, then a long rail with roughly 155cm of hanging height for dresses, coats and trousers at full length. The left-hand bay has a rail with about 110cm of hanging height, enough for shirts, jackets and folded-over trousers, above a shelf. Below that shelf the three drawers sit beside an open shelved column about 63cm wide, split into two compartments of around 45cm and 41cm high, for shoes, bags or stacked jumpers. Each drawer has an internal space of about 53.7cm by 33.8cm and 12.7cm deep.
Load ratings
Arte-N rate the drawers at 5kg each and the hanging rails at 25kg each. The drawers run on ball-bearing runners and the handles are metal.
Size and fit
It measures W250.1cm x D61cm x H200.5cm. Measure the wall and allow a little either side for the doors to be lifted onto their track during assembly. The 61cm depth takes standard hangers square to the doors. The wardrobe is built lying on its back and then stood up, so you need a ceiling of at least 2.2m in the room where it is assembled. It stands on plastic feet and weighs about 169kg once built, so it is a two-person job.
Looking after it
Spray glass cleaner onto a cloth, not onto the mirror, and wipe the white surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth before drying them. Vacuum the bottom track now and then so the doors keep running smoothly.
