The Niko 3 Door Wardrobe with Drawers is a sensible, well-priced triple wardrobe that fits hanging, shelving and drawer storage into 123cm of wall. Behind three hinged doors you get a hanging rail with a shelf above it, a column of four shelves and two drawers, so one piece of furniture can hold most of a person’s clothes. It comes in two wood effects: Sonoma Oak and Artisan Oak.

Design

It is a classic shape: three flat doors with short bar handles, two drawers at the bottom right and a plinth that lifts it off the floor on glide feet. At 185cm high it sits below most ceilings with room for a storage box on top, and it looks at home in a first flat, a child’s or teenager’s room, a guest room or a rented home where you want good storage without a big outlay.

Two oak finishes

Sonoma Oak is a pale, slightly grey-toned oak effect with silver-coloured handles, at home with white walls and soft grey bedding. Artisan Oak is a warmer, more golden oak with visible knots and black handles, which suits a Scandi or industrial room. Both are wood-effect laminate, so they resist scuffs and wipe clean.

Storage inside

The left-hand pair of doors opens onto a hanging section about 80cm wide with a rail and a shelf above it, and around 142cm of hanging height, enough for coats, dresses and shirts. Behind the right-hand door is a narrower column of four shelves for folded clothes, and below that are two drawers on ball-bearing runners for underwear, socks and accessories. The drawers sit behind the door frame line, so they open smoothly without catching.

Size and fit

It measures 122.6cm wide, 52.7cm deep and 185cm high. It is a little shallower than a standard wardrobe, which helps in a narrow room, but still takes standard hangers. Leave about 45cm of clear floor in front for the doors. The diagonal of the side panel is about 192cm, so it can be stood up after assembly in any room with a normal ceiling. It weighs about 84kg once built and comes with wall fixing fittings.

Looking after it

Wipe the laminated finish with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners. Keep the heaviest folded items on the lower shelves, and check the hinges and drawer runners a few weeks after assembly in case anything needs a small adjustment.

It arrives flat-packed in several boxes for self-assembly, so check the boxes will fit through your front door and up the stairs, and allow two adults for the build. It weighs about 84kg once assembled and must be fixed to the wall with the anti-tip fitting supplied.
