Description
The Lizbona II Mirrored Sliding Door Wardrobe 203cm gives you a full-length mirror and a well-organised interior in one piece. Two sliding doors, each with a tall mirror panel towards the centre, open onto two hanging rails on one side and a grid of shelves on the other. At 203cm wide and 215cm tall it is a generous double wardrobe, in White Matt, Oak Sonoma or Black Matt with Oak Viking.
Design
When the doors are closed, the two mirror panels meet in the middle to make one wide mirror, flanked by outer panels with a decorative trim of horizontal grooves and long bar handles. A mirror that size reflects light from the window and makes a bedroom look larger, and it saves you buying a separate dressing mirror. The doors run on aluminium runners with bearing rollers, which are quieter and smoother than plastic tracks.
Three finishes
White Matt keeps it light and bright, the easiest choice for a small room. Oak Sonoma is a pale, slightly grey-toned oak effect that warms a white or grey scheme. Black Matt / Oak Viking sets a darker, rustic oak effect in a black matt frame for a bold, hotel-style look. All three are laminated board, so they resist scuffs and wipe clean, and the mirror panels are the same in each.
Storage inside
Arte-N’s interior photograph shows a run of compartments across the top for spare bedding, bags and things you use less often. Below that, one half is fitted with two hanging rails, one above the other, so shirts, jackets and folded trousers hang in two tiers, roughly doubling the hanging you would get from a single rail. The other half is a grid of open shelves in two columns for jumpers, T-shirts and storage boxes. There are no drawers, so if you need some, a pair of fabric boxes on the lower shelves works well.
Size and fit
It measures 203cm wide, 61cm deep and 215cm high. That is taller than most wardrobes, so measure your ceiling: the wardrobe is built lying down and raised, and its side diagonal is about 224cm, so allow a ceiling of at least 2.3m in the room where it is assembled. It weighs about 178kg once built, largely because of the mirror panels, so it needs two adults to build and must be fixed to the wall.
Looking after it
Clean the mirrors with a glass cleaner sprayed onto a cloth, not straight onto the panel, so liquid does not run into the frame. Wipe the laminated surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Keep the bottom track clear of dust so the doors glide on their rollers.
