Choosing a finish

The six finishes fall into two groups. The matt colours — black, grey and white — suit a room where the walls are doing the work and you want the furniture to sit back. The oak finishes — Artisan, San Remo and Shetland — carry more grain and more warmth, and read better in a room with wooden floors or an existing oak bed. If you are matching furniture you already own, note that oak finishes vary considerably between manufacturers, so a close match to another brand is harder than it looks.

Looking after it

Laminated board finishes are easy to live with: wipe with a damp cloth and dry it straight away rather than letting water sit on a joint or an edge. Avoid abrasive creams and anything solvent-based, which dull the surface. If a drawer starts to run heavily, it is almost always because the chest is standing slightly out of level on an uneven floor rather than a fault with the runner — check with a spirit level before anything else.

We deliver to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Scottish islands. Delivery is arranged directly with you once your order is placed.
