Description
The Home Nook Slim Sliding Door Wardrobe 150cm is the roomiest single-hanging Home Nook: 150.1cm wide, 39.1cm deep and 210cm high, with two sliding doors over a wide shelf column and a hanging bay fitted with a pull-out rail. It brings proper double-wardrobe storage to rooms that cannot spare the 60cm of depth most wardrobes need.
Design
Because the cabinet is shallow, the rail is mounted front to back and slides out towards you, so you draw the whole row of hangers forward to choose an outfit instead of reaching into the back. The sliding doors take no room to open, which is why the Home Nook works beside a bed, on a landing or along a hallway wall. A fine line crosses each door at about two-thirds height, and slim metal handle strips on the door edges keep the front free of knobs.
Finishes
Each size comes in three finishes. White is the brightest and the easiest to place: it disappears against white or pale grey walls and makes a small room feel wider. Sand is a warm, soft beige that sits well with oak floors, linen and cream bedding, and it hides fingerprints better than white. Black Matt turns the wardrobe into a feature, which works in a monochrome bedroom, a dark hallway or next to black metal furniture. All three have slim metal handle strips on the door edges and a light interior.
Storage inside
Arte-N’s dimension drawing shows about 147cm of internal width in two bays of about 73cm, noticeably wider than the 120cm model. The left bay is a stack of six compartments, five about 31cm high and one about 38cm at the bottom, which gives plenty of room for folded clothes, bags, hats and shoe boxes side by side. The right bay has a top compartment of about 37cm, then a shelf with the pull-out rail underneath and about 163cm of drop, so dresses, coats and trousers can hang at full length. Each shelf is rated for about 15kg and the rail for about 6kg, which suits everyday shirts, blouses and jackets better than heavy winter coats.
Size and fit
It measures W150.1cm x D39.1cm x H210cm and weighs about 83kg. The cabinet is assembled lying down and then stood up, so allow a ceiling of at least 2.2m in the room where it is built, and check the height under any beam, coving or sloping ceiling. Glide feet protect the floor and wall-fixing fittings are included.
Looking after it
Wipe the doors and shelves with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners on the laminate. Keep the floor guide free of fluff and grit so the doors run smoothly, and do not overload the shelves beyond about 15kg each.
