The Enna EN-05 Bedside Table 40cm is a 40cm wide and 40cm tall bedside cabinet. It is sized to sit level with a standard divan or bedstead, so the top surface lands where your hand does when you reach for a glass of water in the dark.

Storage is one drawer. At 40cm deep it takes a paperback, a phone, a charger and a lamp without crowding — and it will not overhang the bed frame or catch a shin on the way past. The integrated LED lighting gives you a soft glow at night without reaching for the main light.

Dimensions

Measure the gap between your bed and the wall before ordering. At 40cm wide this needs a clear 45cm or so to sit comfortably without pressing against the frame.

Choosing the right height

A bedside cabinet works best when its top sits level with, or just above, the top of your mattress. Divans with a deep mattress often sit higher than people expect — 60 to 70cm from floor to mattress top is common. This one stands 40cm tall, which suits a low platform bed or a bedstead with a shallow mattress. Measure from your floor to the top of the mattress and compare before you order — it is the one dimension people regret getting wrong.

The finish is deliberately understated, and it is part of the wider Arte-N range, so a chest or wardrobe in the same finish can follow later if you want to build the room up over time.

Materials and care

The carcase and fronts are 16mm laminated board — a melamine-faced chipboard that is stable, holds a screw well and does not move with humidity the way solid timber can in a centrally heated bedroom. It wipes clean with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid; avoid abrasive creams and anything solvent-based, which will dull the surface. Spills are worth catching quickly, as with any laminate, because standing water can creep into a cut edge over time.

Fixings for assembly are supplied; a wall strap is not, and is worth adding if the unit will stand in a child’s room. Keep the back panel pinned square during assembly — it is what stops a cabinet of this construction racking out of true, and it is the step most people rush.

Delivery and assembly

Made to order and delivered direct, typically within 3 – 4 weeks. We deliver to England and Wales mainland only; the Scottish Highlands and the offshore islands are outside our delivery area. Assembly is quick — a cabinet this size is usually a job for one person and under an hour, with pre-drilled panels and picture-led instructions.

Questions we get asked

Will it hold a lamp and a few books?

Comfortably. The top is 40cm by 40cm, which takes a table lamp, a phone on charge and a book with room to spare. It is laminated board rather than solid timber, so it is not the surface for a heavy marble lamp base.

Do the drawers run on runners?

Yes — metal runners, fitted during assembly. They are side-mounted rather than soft-close unless the listing says otherwise.

Can I buy two for either side of the bed?

Yes, and most people do. Add two to your basket — they ship together and the delivery charge does not double. If you want a matching chest of drawers in the same finish, ask us and we will check availability in the range.

What if a panel arrives damaged?

Tell us within 48 hours with a photograph and we will send a replacement panel rather than a whole unit. Flat-pack furniture ships panel by panel, so one damaged piece is rarely a reason to return everything.
